Pyramids on the Nile

Lo1- Describe the geography of Egypt- The geography of Egypt relates to two regions: North Africa and Southwest Asia. Egypt has coastlines on the Mediterranean Sea, the River Nile, and the Red Sea. Egypt borders Libya to the west, the Gaza Strip to the northeast, and Sudan to the south.
Lo2- Discuss the role of Pharoah in Egyptian Society- The pharaoh was the ruler of Upper and Lower Egypt. Also, he owned all of the lands, made laws, collected taxes, and defended Egypt against the foreigners. As the High Priest of Every Temple, the pharaoh represented the gods on Earth. He performed rituals and built temples to honor the gods.

Which of the Egyptian achievements do you consider the most important? Explain. - The incredible architecture such as the pyramids and Valley of the Kings as well as other temples.

How did being surrounded by deserts benefit Egyptian development?- The desert offered protection from invaders.

How did the Egyptians view the pharaoh?- The Egyptians viewed their pharaoh as a living God.

Why did Egyptians mummify bodies?- Egyptians believed that when someone died, their soul left their body. The soul would then return and be reunited with the body after it was buried.
