Lo1: Define Pre-History, Paleolithic, Neolithic, Fertile Crescent
Paleolithic- Relating to or denoting the early phase of the Stone Age, lasting about 2.5 million years, when primitive stone implements were used.
Neolithic- relating to or denoting the later part of the Stone Age, when ground or polished stone weapons and implements prevailed.
Fertile Crescent- A crescent-shaped area of fertile land in the Middle East extending from the eastern Mediterranean coast through the valley of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers to the Persian Gulf. It was the center of the Neolithic development of agriculture (from 7000 bc), and the cradle of the Assyrian, Sumerian, and Babylonian civilizations.
Lo2: To describe the impact of the Agricultural Revolution-
Lo3: To identify and describe the 5 characteristics of civilization.- A writing system, public architecture, professions, urban centers and the existence of a class of elites who remain exempt from manual labor.
- The major effect of the Agricultural Revolution in the 1800s was the increase in the food supply, which was able to feed the urban dwellers. Any family who agreed to settle on land for at least five years was given that land for free. The farmers were isolated from each other due to large acres of land each farmer-owned.
